KIHOMAC Awarded Navy Contract for LAU-127 Snubber Kit Production

The U.S. Navy awarded KIHOMAC, Inc. a $25 million contract to supply LAU-127 Snubber Kits for F/A-18 aircraft. KIHOMAC will deliver 450 internal snubber kits over the next three years and may produce and ship 200 additional units under an optional clause.

This component plays a vital role in supporting the LAU-127 missile launcher, which enables aircraft to carry and deploy AIM-9 Sidewinder and AIM-120 AMRAAM missiles. The snubber kit reduces stress and vibration during flight, increasing launcher reliability and supporting overall mission success.

The contract supports a Full Rate Production (FRP) Multiple Award Contract (MAC), issued in partnership with PMA-201 and NAWCAD AIRWorks. The U.S. Navy will integrate the kits into the F/A-18A-F, EA-18G Growler, and AV-8B Harrier platforms.

“We’re proud to support the Navy’s mission readiness with durable, high-performance components,” said a KIHOMAC representative. “This award recognizes our engineering excellence and commitment to quality.”

The LAU-127 Snubber Kit is engineered to withstand demanding flight conditions and ensure missile launch stability. Its improved design helps reduce wear and tear, which lowers maintenance demands and enhances long-term system reliability.
