Kihomac, Inc., is looking for a skilled software engineer to join its software engineering group in Dallas, Texas. Kihomac is a small company specializing in providing top-notch solutions to the defense industry.

The software engineering group is a small team of software and systems engineers based in Dallas, Texas. We develop internal and client-driven software to support varying types of projects. We’ve written simulation software in C++, visualization applications in Java, and project management software using Ruby on Rails.

The software engineer is responsible for contributing to multiple projects using varying technologies. We’re looking for self-motivated applicants who are able to learn and adapt to new technologies and requirements. You must be knowledgeable and able to get things done. We’re more interested in your ability to create high-quality software than we are with any specific technology that you’ve used.

Applicant Qualities:
• BS or higher in Computer Science or Engineering required
• 5+ years of software engineering experience
• Experience building web applications using Ruby on Rails
• Experience with agile methodologies
• Constantly learning new technologies and programming languages (a self-improver)
• Experience with C++, Java, object-oriented development, version control
• Working knowledge of Unix-based platforms.
• Thrive on rapid development cycles
• High commitment to collaboration and team achievement
• Plays well with others - we enjoy working together, and hope you will too
• Sample code readily available for review
• A good eye for design is a plus!
• Excellent communication skills
