Ronald Jones, Vice President, Aerospace Sustainment Division

Ron Joined KIHOMAC Inc in Aug 2009 as the Utah site Director, and became a Vice President in Feb 2010. Ron has 30 years total of government service, 25 years in government contracting, five years working government supply chain, and also 12 years management in private industry.

Ron started with the Government in contracting in 1984 as a GS- 5 buyer; he worked in various areas including aircraft, trainers, munitions, wheels and brakes, and missiles. During his early years in contracting he took various training classes including cost and pricing, contract law, Federal Acquisition Regulations (FAR), and government contracting. During Ron’s career he became level III certified in acquisition, and obtained a professional designation in contracting. Ron retired in July 2009 as an YC03, (GS-15 equivalent).

While in trainers he helped develop a model contract used for contractor logistic support (CLS), which became the contract vehicle used for CLS to support various trainer and simulator systems across the Air Force. This model contract helped create a more efficient and flexible contract helping to keep the simulator and training more concurrent with the aircraft.

As a supervisor in Aircraft, Ron was instrumental in awarding the first Falcon 20/20 contract for engineering support for the F-16. This contract provides engineering support for modifications, upgrades, and sustainment for all U.S. and FMS F-16 aircraft. While in Aircraft he also was involved in awarding the first Design Engineering Support Program (DESP) contract.

While the chief of operational contracting Ron headed up a team responsible to provide contracting support for military security for the 2002 winter Olympics in Salt Lake City Utah. The winter Olympics were held five months after 9-11, which resulted in the security requirements quadrupling over the original plan. This required significant effort and planning to put all the infrastructure and support contracts in place and up and running in time for the Olympic Games. Ron and his team were recognized and received meritorious achievement awards from the commanding General responsible for Olympic security, he stated, “security for the games wouldn’t had happened if it wasn’t for Ron and his folks at Hill Air Force base”. While chief of Operational contracting Ron also set up the original AEF training and deployment program for Contacting at HAFB.

Ron has held the position of Chief of contracting for three different Wings at Hill AFB, the 75th Air base Wing, the 526th ICBM Wing, and the 84th Combat Sustainment Wing. During this period Ron was awarded the PK Supervisor of the year, Federal manager of the year, and Secretary of the Air Force AFMC Contracting Supervisor of the year. Ron retired while serving as chief of the Policy and Pricing Division, PK Directorate, OO-ALC, HAFB Utah.

Ron has a Bachelor degree in Business Management from Weber State University, and a Masters of Business Management (MBA) degree from Embry Riddle University, graduating with honors.
